The Center is proud to announce the launch of Queer Justice, the American LGBTQ+ Museum’s first traveling exhibition created in collaboration with Lambda Legal! For 50 years, Lambda Legal has been at the forefront of the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. Their dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment have paved the way for progress and equality. Now, the American LGBTQ+ Museum is bringing their incredible journey to you.

Queer Justice will open at The Center, and then make its way across the country to Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Dallas.

This opening reception will also include the panel discussion: Intersections of Activism: ACT UP, Visual AIDS, and Lambda Legal’s Impact on LGBTQ+ Justice.

5:30 p.m. – Preview

6:30 p.m. – Panel Discussion

7:30 p.m. – Continued Viewing

We invite you to a panel conversation exploring the critical roles of organizations like ACT UP (AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power) and Visual AIDS in the context of landmark rulings that changed the face of American law. This conversation aims to complement the exhibition by shedding light on how the activism of individuals, collectives, and organizations during the AIDS crisis intersected with Lambda Legal’s work and has shaped the course of LGBTQ+ justice over the past half-century.

The panel will feature Ron Goldberg (Author of Boy with the Bullhorn), Blake Paskal (Programs Associate, Visual AIDS), and José Abrigo (HIV Project Director, Lambda Legal), and will be moderated by Tim Murphy (HIV/AIDS Writer/Editor/Reporter).
