“Como Me Quiero” Activation by Las Mariquitas Collective

Join us in a evening honoring Las Mariquitas Dancers as they ACTIVATE us in Las Mariquitas' original song "Como me quiero"

Las Mariquitas' Dancers: Luca + Emily hosted their very first 8-week Open level Salsa Education and Performance series!

During the series, the dancers learned about the resilient, rich history of salsa through written works, multi-media, open communication, and decolonized movement. The dancers also learned basic fundamentals of salsa steps and movement such as – isolations, basic steps, facial expression, intuitive-ancestral movement, and shines, along with some partner and group work.

Each class centered the historical context behind movement, which exemplified the core values as a part of the Las Mariquitas collective. The movement learned was implemented to Las Mariquitas’ original song, “Como Me Quiero”.

Now YOU get the gift of witnessing the magic we cultivated behind the scenes where our dancers will activate "Como me quiero"!
