Join the Broadway community as we come together for a star-studded celebration of the LGBTQ+ family, filled with unique takes on beloved showtunes.

 

Broadway Backwards is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and benefits Broadway Cares and New York City’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.

 

Broadway Backwards is our annual celebration of LGBTQ+ stories told through the great songs of musical theater. Broadway Backwards began as a grassroots concert performed at New York City’s LGBT Community Center in 2006. The event quickly grew and now is performed annually in a Broadway theater. Since 2010, the evening has been produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and benefits Broadway Cares and the Center.
