Statement on the Colorado Shooting in Club Q

November 20, 2022

The Center’s Statement

Queer people deserve to be safe.

“Today our hearts are with the victims of the tragic shootings on November 19 at Club Q in Colorado Springs and their loved ones. As a place where LGBTQ+ people also gather to celebrate, find community, freedom, and sanctuary we understand the significance of queer spaces.

We are horrified and infuriated that once again the safety of such a space has been shattered by gun violence. Attacks on LGBTQ+ people across the country must be stopped.” – Glennda Testone, Executive Director
