Accessibility

The Center is committed to ensuring an inclusive and accessible experience for everyone.

Getting to The Center

The Center is located at 208 West 13th Street, between 7th Avenue and Greenwich Avenue, on the South side of the street. The nearest subway lines are the 1, 2, 3, A, C, E, F, M, L, and Path trains at 14th Street and 6th Avenue.

Entering the Building

To enter the building, the main door has two steps leading to the center of the lobby. Ramp access to the right of the main door provides entrance to the lobby near the cafe, Coffee Project.

The Information & Referral (I&R) desk is located to the left in the lobby. The I&R team can assist with questions about meeting rooms, available services, and more.

Navigating the Building

There are four floors in our main building and an additional building on the ground floor (called the Keith Haring Community Wing). The main building houses twelve meeting rooms and many of The Center’s administrative offices. The Keith Haring Community Wing houses adult and youth services staff and meeting spaces.

To access the upper floors in the main building, there is an elevator behind the I&R desk and a spiral staircase to the back of the lobby. The fourth floor is accessible via the elevator or Stairwell B next to the elevator.

Guidelines

All visitors to The Center must follow our Community Agreements. A member of our I&R team will speak to any visitors who break these agreements, and visitors may be asked to leave if unable or unwilling to follow these guidelines.

Event Accommodations

All venues where The Center’s signature events occur uphold ADA compliance standards. During these large-scale events, The Center receives and meets any requests for ASL interpreters while also providing live captions on screen.

For smaller events held at The Center, accommodation requests are accepted as part of the event’s registration process.

Bathrooms

On the first, second, and third floors, there are all-gender and accessible public restrooms located on either side of the elevators.
