Theme:Â To Honor and To Hold: Their Lives, Their Legacies
On Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR), we gather as a community to honor and uplift the memory of those whose lives were taken by hate and violence. This year, we also hold space for those we have lost to suicide, recognizing that these losses are too often the result of the daily, relentless pressures and systemic harms faced by our transgender and gender-expansive siblings. Together, we remember their lives with love, acknowledge the pain of their absence, and recommit ourselves to creating a future where all of us can live safely, openly, and fully.
To Honor and To Hold: Their Lives, Their Legacies pays tribute to the lives and legacies of the Trans community members we have lost to violence this year. The evening will honor remembrance, resilience, and community.
The Transgender Day of Remembrance Altar will be on display throughout the month, beginning Thursday, November 5. We welcome you to visit to take a moment of quiet reflection, leave a message for a loved one, or simply sit in solidarity. The altar is open to all.
