Transgender Day of Remembrance

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is a day to memorialize those who have been killed as a result of anti-transgender violence and bring attention to the continued brutality endured by the trans and gender-expansive members of our community.

TDOR is also a time for us to gather as a community in support and mutual healing. The day invites us to renew our commitment to deeply caring for one another and resolving to work together to end the injustices trans people worldwide are continually facing. Transgender and gender-expansive folks have always and will always exist, and The Center will be there to support them.

2025 Theme: Lives Remembered, Futures Reclaimed

Join us in solidarity for Transgender Day of Remembrance. Together, we honor and uplift the memory of those whose lives were taken by hate and violence. This year, we also hold space for those we have lost to suicide, recognizing that these losses are too often the result of the daily, relentless pressures and systemic harms faced by our transgender and gender-expansive siblings.

The evening will feature words and performances from transgender artists and public figures, as well as resource-sharing from The Center. We invite you to share a meal and space with us as we dedicate this night to honor our community past, present, and future.

WhatChaCookinBaby is an authentic Creole and Cajun Food Truck that is located in Atlanta and New York City. Jada & Branden started the business from recipes that’s been passed down from the late Grandma Betsy. The business started back in 2017 and we’ve been going through ever since. Every bite is as New Orleans as it get. The name was created by a saying in New Orleans when you walk into someone home and there’s someone cooking you say “WhatChaCookinBaby”.
