The Center Presents: Ryan O'Callaghan and "My Life On the Line: How the NFL Damn Near Killed Me, and Ended Up Saving My Life"
Join us for an important and groundbreaking conversation with former NFL player Ryan O’Callaghan as he discusses “My Life On the Line: How the NFL Damn Near Killed Me, and Ended Up Saving My Life,” co-written by Cyd Zeigler. The book details the terrible experience Ryan had of being closeted throughout his life until his football career ended. This event is cohosted by civil rights activist and author David Mixner, and cosponsored by You Can Play and Akashic Books.
Ryan Thomas O’Callaghan is a former American football offensive tackle. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fifth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He also played for the Kansas City Chiefs. O’Callaghan is one of only a few openly gay former NFL players.
