The Center is a designated navigator agency for the NY State of Health, the health insurance marketplace for New York through the Affordable Care Act. We offer free assistance to individuals, families, and small businesses in New York State who need help navigating their options for health insurance.
You may be eligible for free or low-cost coverage through Medicaid, the Essential Plan, or Child Health Plus, or you may qualify for a Qualified Health Plan with tax credits. Health insurance offered in the Marketplace includes a comprehensive set of benefits. Preventive care, such as routine office visits and recommended screenings, are free.
Our staff can help you explore affordable coverage options, complete an application to enroll in a plan, and even secure financial assistance for your current health care costs.

MIOSOTI LOPEZ (SHE/HER)
Miosoti Lopez is an experienced Patient Navigation Coordinator with a career spanning over 7 years in the healthcare industry. She is bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish, and is committed to ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare for all individuals. In her role, Miosoti specializes in enrolling clients into health insurance via the New York State of Health marketplace. Through exceptional communication and rapport-building skills, Miosoti has established safe and affirming spaces for community members going through the enrollment process. Miosoti is also an active volunteer in her local community, dedicating her time to various non-profit organizations.
SCOTTIE ROCHE (THEY/THEM)
Scottie Roche has helped New Yorkers access health care and overcome complex barriers to wellness for the past 10 years. They are well versed in New York State of Health marketplace enrollment topics such as projecting and reporting self-employment income, transitioning from marketplace coverage to Medicare, and accessing coverage for PrEP and Gender-Affirming surgery.
One of Scottie’s notable accomplishments has been their role in moderating the acclaimed social media group “PrEP Facts: Rethinking HIV Prevention and Sex,” which The World Health Organization included as an important peer resource in its PrEP prescribing guidelines.
SARAH POMAR (SHE/HER)
Sarah cares deeply about human dignity—and access to healthcare is the first step towards honoring that. She has worked for many years with people from her own LGBTQ+ community, immigrants of any status, people living with HIV/AIDS, domestic violence survivors, and folks who are houseless or with unstable housing. Sarah ensures that anyone she assists leaves their appointment having learned how to use their coverage and who to contact for more specific support. Sarah speaks fluent Spanish and conversational French. She sincerely looks forward to assisting The Center’s LGBTQ+ community members and their loved ones in confidently accessing their healthcare.
KATHERINE SIERRA (SHE/THEY)
Katherine has built a deep personal connection with the LGBTQ+ community through her continued work with the New York State of Health Marketplace, with a particular focus on transgender and gender nonconforming communities. She strongly believes all New Yorkers, especially underrepresented ones, should have access to health care programs that are friendly and respectful, especially in the current political climate where marginalized communities are being poorly treated across the globe. Working for The Center reflects Katherine’s immense pride in serving LGBTQ+ New Yorkers from all walks of life. Katherine is fully bilingual which allows her to support community members in Spanish and English.
