Book: I Can’t Think Straight by Shamim Sarif. Talas, a London-based Palestinian woman is preparing for her elaborate wedding when she meets Leyla, a young British-Indian woman who is dating her best friend. They find themselves attracted to each other emotionally and sexually, and as Talas’ wedding day approaches, pressure mounts for Tala to be true to herself. This is a novel that explores the clashes between East and West, love and marriage, and conventionality and individuality.
