Making Paid Leave Work For Your Family

The Center is thrilled to partner with A Better Balance to present a workshop where individuals and families will learn how to utilize NYS Paid Family Leave.
Are you a new parent or planning for parenthood? Are you a caregiver for someone in your life? Do you lack employer-provided paid time off to take care of your own health needs? Alex Wilson of A Better Balance joins us to review two laws updated or implemented this year. These laws provide covered workers job-protected, paid time off to take care of their own health needs, a family member’s health needs, or to bond with a new biological, foster, or adopted child. This workshop will explain how the New York City earned sick time law and the New York State paid family leave law work, your rights under the laws, and how these laws specifically benefit LGBTQ+ individuals and families.
