Leslie-Lohman Museum’s Summer Block Party

June 1, 2:00 pm-6:00 pm

Free
Our annual Block Party kicks off of PRIDE month, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising and our organization. The unveiling of QueerPower, our annual art and social justice façade installation, will feature internationally recognized documentary artist Joan E Biren (JEB) whose photographic and film work has chronicled the lives of LGBTQ people for more than 50 years. This installation will present a historical profile of this community from 1969 launching its fight for civil rights. Held on Wooster Street in front of the Museum, we will be open for free during the festival, local cultural organizations and food vendors will be invited to join the celebration, and we will curate a lineup performances and activities for all ages.
