DONIZETTI FESTIVAL PRESENTS “THE MOON: FIRST LOVE!”

July 9, 6:30 pm-9:00 pm

Free

“The Moon: First Love!” is a one-hour show with two actors, one soprano and one pianist. The show will combine the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York and the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing in a musical voyage with the passionate love story between two men and their journey to discover the lunar side of themselves.

Through a beautiful selection of arias by composers like Donizetti, Rossini, Bellini, Verdi and Offenbach that have honored the silver star with their music, Francesco Micheli and Michele Panella will guide us on this space journey together with the soprano Marta Torbidoni. The wonderful video projections are made by video designer Francesca Ballarini, with original costumes by Cinzia Mascheroni.

The show is in English language for the spoken portion. Arias are sung in original language.
