Empire City Men's Chorus at The Center Presents "Coming About"
What drives us to survive? How do we as humans make the choice to live when the odds are stacked against us? “Coming About” is a harrowing story of survival and the search for meaning. Two husbands reveled in adventure. Sailing across the ocean proved to be the most onerous task of their lives. Battling crushing waves and storms at sea, they clung to each other for strength, encouragement and love. It is love that sustained them; love that gave them the will to fight when all seemed lost. It is love that helped them win the battle for their lives. ECMC sings incredible music about water—from its peacefulness to its rage—as author Mario Dell’Olio, reads passages from his critically-acclaimed true life story, “Coming About.”
Enjoy works by Palestrina, Walker, Cobb, Finn and more with additional arrangements of Peter Gabriel and Jars of Clay for men’s voices.
Proceeds from this concert benefit both ECMC and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.
