Center Dinner

Center Dinner Co-Chairs Jill Schlesinger, Jeffrey Schneider, Allyn Shaw, Rahul Tripathi, Miles Tyrrell, our Host Committee, and the Board of Directors of The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center invite you to join us on Thursday, April 14 for Center Dinner.
It is crucial that our community comes together to uphold LGBTQ rights, dignity, and opportunity. Center Dinner raises critical funds to support our life-saving and life-enhancing programs, while bringing together the LGBTQ community and our allies to celebrate those who are doing this work, and whose efforts help to build a more just and equitable world.
Thursday, April 14, 2022
6:30 p.m. Cocktail Reception
7:30 p.m. Dinner & Program
Cipriani Wall Street

For the first time, we will present the Edie Windsor Trailblazer Award. Named in honor and celebration of Windsor’s tremendous contributions to the fight for marriage equality, the award recognizes those who have led the way in fighting for the protection and advancement of LGBTQ rights. The Center will present this award to the Gill Foundation’s Scott Miller and Tim Gill for their incredible achievements and direct support of LGBTQ rights nationwide. Cecilia Gentili, renowned transgender activist, will receive the Visibility Award for her pioneering career in sex work, immigrant rights, and trans liberation. The Center will also recognize Bank of America with our Corporate Impact Award for its commitment and support of the LGBTQ community and for its efforts to create a culture of inclusivity for employees.
Actor and singer Alex Newell (Glee, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Broadway’s Once on This Island) will perform during the Center Dinner program. We are also excited to welcome longtime Center community member, NYC legend, and comedian Murray Hill, as seen on HBO’s hit show “Somebody Somewhere” and Amy Schumer’s “Life & Beth” on Hulu, who will speak about his personal connections to Center services.

Please note: We are thrilled to be welcoming our community back to in-person events with The Center! Our utmost priority is the health and safety of our staff, vendors, and guests. The Center is actively monitoring the ongoing situation with COVID-19 in tandem with the venue for Center Dinner, New York City guidelines, and the CDC. Although NYC guidelines removed requirements as of March 2022, The Center is maintaining that all guests be required to show proof of vaccination and photo ID prior to entering Cipriani Wall Street. This includes all staff from both The Center and the venue participating in Center Dinner. Ticket holders and their guests will be given instructions for providing proof of vaccination in the weeks prior to the event. Masks are encouraged but not required. Please take this into consideration prior to purchasing a ticket as there are no refunds or exchanges.
