SUMMARY:"Whose Family Values? Building a Future for All American Families"
DESCRIPTION:The American conservative movement has never been closer to advancing its “traditional family values” agenda nationwide. White Christian nationalists at the state and federal levels have worked to restrict abortion access; to allow faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against same-sex couples and religious minorities; and to kneecap efforts towards universal childcare. \n \nEven so\, the vast majority of Americans—of all faiths and none—continue to support a pluralistic democracy. So how can we resist together? How can we push towards a future that embraces all families as they come? This panel will bring together faith leaders and activists to carve a path forward for our families and communities. \n \nDoors open at 6:00pm. The panel will begin at 6:15pm and will include time for questions from the audience. \n \nPanel speakers: \n \nRabbi Mike Moskowitz is the Director of Scholarship and Multi-faith Engagement at the Beacon. He also served as the Scholar-in-Residence for Trans and Queer Jewish Studies at Congregation Beit Simchat Torah (CBST)\, the world’s largest LGBT Synagogue. \n \nReverend Amanda Hambrick is the Consulting Community Minister at Middle Church. She is also the founder of Raising Imagination and serves on the Clergy Advisory Board of Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts and the Diverse Books Coalition and Early Childhood Parent Power Building Cohort for Moms Rising. \n \nBrian Silva is the Vice President of Outreach at Americans United for Separation of Church and State. He previously served as Executive Director of Marriage Equality USA and Executive Director of the National Equality Action Team (NEAT). \n \nAlan Chen (moderator) researches childcare and public education at the NYC Independent Budget Office as a NYC Urban Fellow. He also serves as a Youth Organizing Fellow with Americans United for Separation of Church and State. \n \nRSVP here: https://www.mobilize.us/au/event/957164/

SUMMARY:PIR - The Bridge Within
DESCRIPTION:Psychedelics in Recovery (PIR) The Bridge Within meets every Thursday from 5-6PM. PIR is a 12-step fellowship of people from all 12-step programs and other paths of recovery who share our experience\, strength and hope with each other. Our primary purpose is to pursue recovery and help others do the same\, as defined by the individual. As our third tradition states: “The only requirement for membership is an interest in psychedelics and/or plant medicines as an aid to our recovery process.” The Bridge Within explores the bridges necessary for profound healing—both inside ourselves and between each other.  This meeting focuses on integrating the profound insights from our psychedelic experiences with the practical\, daily work of our 12-step recovery.
