Scope and Content
The collection consists of correspondence sent to Richard Dworkins, as Director of Tops and Bottoms Records, from aspiring LGBT musicians, friends, and colleagues. There are also tape cassettes and CDs of music samples and a VHS cassette c1997 of an amateur media talk show. The VHS has been transferred to DVD and the audio cassettes and CDs have been transferred to a server. Additionally there are flyers and handouts of LGBT shows and events in the NYC area. As well as a selection of flyers for events and organizations with information about AIDS.
History or Bio
Richard Dworkin is a drummer and president of Significant Other Inc (a.k.a. Significant Other Records) established in 1988 in New York City. Mr. Dworkin appears as Director for Tops and Bottoms Records in correspondences sent to him, however, there is no information on this company. He is closely associated with Michael Callen a fellow musician often producing Callen’s work. The Center Archives is also in possession of Michael Callen’s papers (collection no. 010).
