Scope and Content

An unpublished manuscript; loose pages contained in a manuscript box. It is made up of correspondence between John Paul Hudson and a variety of gay and lesbian people from around the U.S. It is edited and arranged according to a wide variety of topics ranging from religion to camp. An excellent source for coming out stories, accounts of sexual adventures and self-discovery, and for personal accounts of various controversies such as gay Catholic clergy and the “Aesthetic Realism” movement.

History or Bio

John Paul Hudson is a longtime activist and a pioneering gay journalist in publications such as “Gay,” “The Advocate,” and “Gay News.” He is the author of a number of books including “Superstar Murder” and “The Gay Insider, USA.”
