Martin Duberman will be in conversation with novelist Sarah Schulman, followed by a signing of RADICAL ACTS which includes four brilliant, politically charged plays, brought together for a new generation of politically conscious theater. The collection begins with the documentary-based "In White America," which was named the Best Off-Broadway production of 1963, and which depicts the centuries old black struggle for freedom and human rights. The remaining three plays depict the lives of historically significant figures, interweaving true tales with Duberman's literary and political imaginings.
Martin Duberman is Distinguished Professor of History Emeritus at Lehman College and the Graduate School of the City University of New York and was the founder and first director of the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies at the CUNY Graduate School. He has authored over twenty books.
