The Castle is a vividly honest account of how four New Yorkers came to be involved in crime and their transition from prison to society. The play is now enjoying a limited Off-Broadway professional engagement at the New World Stages Theater. The Castle was conceived by David Rothenberg and written in collaboration with Vilma Ortiz Donovan, Kenneth Harrington, Angel Ramos and Casimiro Torres. The Castle is the residential facility run by The Fortune Society for ex-convicts re-entering society. In the play four formerly incarcerated people tell their stories from childhood to prison to redemption. In conversation with David Rothenberg, cast member Casimiro Torres will tell his own real-life story.
